Me: "I told you to wait downstairs."
He: "And you really thought I would listen to you?"
Me: "Go away, I need to change."
He: "Why so shy? I've already seen everything. Consider this a private viewing."
He pushed off the door frame and walked over, sitting on the edge of my bed, making himself comfortable. His gaze was intense, and I watched as his eyes darkened, tracking my every movement. A thrill went through me, and I decided to play his game, deliberately changing my clothes as slowly as possible, turning to give him a better view as I picked out my blouse.
He stayed silent for a few long moments, the air thick with unspoken tension. Then, in a fluid motion, he reached out and grabbed my hips. I lost my balance, tumbling forward onto his lap, my hands landing on his strong shoulders for support. Our faces were now just inches apart, his warm breath mingling with mine.
And then he kissed me. It wasn't a gentle peck; it was a deep, consuming kiss that I could feel all the way to my toes, a clear display of his raw desire. I responded instantly, moving closer, shifting to straddle his lap, my legs bent on either side of him, pressing our bodies together as the kiss deepened.
The sharp ring of his phone cut through the moment, shattering the intensity of the kiss. He pulled back with a frustrated sigh, answering the call with a curt "Yes?" I took the opportunity to slide off his lap, my heart still racing as I finished getting ready, acutely aware of his eyes on me.
The drive to the office was charged with an unspoken tension that followed us inside. We went our separate ways, and I buried myself in work, while Vedansh was immediately pulled into a long meeting with a client. The morning flew by in a blur of emails and reports.
When lunchtime arrived, I sat with my best friend in the bustling breakroom. A few minutes later, a colleague from marketing approached our table. He was friendly and charming, and he sat down next to me, striking up an easy conversation. We chatted for a while, and I excused myself to go to the washroom. When I returned, he was still waiting, and as I sat back down, he leaned in closer.
"Your collar is a little crooked," he said with a friendly smile, reaching out to fix it. His fingers were just about to brush my neck when my eyes instinctively flicked across the room and landed on Vedansh. He was standing by the doorway, staring right at us. The friendly look on his face was gone, replaced by a look of pure, cold rage that made my blood run cold.
He saw me looking. He didn't scowl or frown. Instead, a slow, chilling smirk spread across his lips. That smirk was a promise, and I knew with absolute certainty that I was done for. He turned and walked away without a backward glance, and a second later, my phone buzzed on the table.
Vedansh: "After office. In my car."
